Job Summary

Plan, coordinate, and prepare construction cost estimates primarily for water and wastewater treatment or other hard bid construction projects. Plan and coordinate conceptual estimates in a design - build environment.

Review project specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

Qualifications for Successful Estimator

Minimum 5 years experience estimating water and wastewater plants for any or all of the following self-performed trades:

1. Process piping welded and flanged
2. Process equipment installation
3. Site Civil
4. Yard Piping
5. Architectural

Minimum 5 years experience in Heavy Industrial for the following self-performed trades:

1. Process piping welded and flanged
2. Equipment installation
3. Rigging
4. Site Civil

Minimum 5 years experience in self - performed cast in place concrete for water, wastewater plants and heavy industrial. Ability to estimate the architectural disciplines is a plus.

Minimum 5 years experience in self - performed site work, structural excavation and yard piping.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or Estimating, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.

Proficiency with Excel

Experience with HCSS and/or Timberline Estimating Systems.

Experience with Primavera Scheduling.

Must have all trades take-off experience.

Project $ Value experience should be in the $2M - $30M range

Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing required.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Must thrive in a fast paced work environment.
