Fitchburg Filtration of River Water - Fitchburg, MA

Methuen Construction was the General Contractor for the construction of a water treatment facility that allows direct filtration of river water for the Fitchburg regional water district. Methuen Construction self-performed most of the work including: site work, excavation, concrete, yard piping, process piping, civil, lagoons, buildings, equipment installation, and coordination of plant start-up.  The filtration facility is built into a sloping site, which allows the use of a gravity flow system that reduces the need for secondary pumping.  Treated water is discharged into a two-zone, 2-million gallon storage tank, and then into an adjoining 36-inch diameter water transmission main that serves the regional water district.
