Durham Energy Recovery System - Durham, NH
This project collects methane gas from over 300 landfill wells at a 150-acre landfill in Rochester, NH and then sends it to an on-site processing facility. The gas is then piped 12 miles to the campus of the University of New Hampshire, UNH, where it is used to power a cogeneration plant. The project provides a large portion of the University’s electricity and heat requirements.
