Methuen Construction performed the equipment set, underground site work and mechanical construction of a new methane burning generator and the erection of the generator's cooling tower at Covanta Energy in Haverhill, MA. The new generator enables Covanta to burn the methane, which is a by-product produced from the existing waste landfill at the energy plant, as fuel to supply electricity to the power plant. In addition, Covanta can sell any surplus electricity back to the electric grid.
