Princeton Municipal Light Department,
Wind Turbine Upgrade
Methuen Construction partnered with Lumus Construction of Woburn, MA to upgrade the Princeton Municipal Light Department’s 16-acre wind farm. The project required replacing seven obsolete 40-kilowatt windmills with two new state-of-the-art 230 ft. Fuhrlander wind turbines. The new turbines will generate a combined 3,000-kilowatts of electricity and meet 40% of Princeton’s electricity needs – the equivalent of 800 houses. Methuen’s role in the project included over $1.4 million dollars in civil and site construction work including concrete foundations for the new turbines, building an expanded access road, and blasting at the site.
