In the "Industrial/Heavy" category, Methuen Construction received an Award of Merit for an improvement project at the Franklin, NH Wastewater Treatment Facility. The goal of this project was to replace aging, unreliable, ineffcient components with new, energy-effcient equipment. Improvements included installing new Turbo Blowers and replacing
11,000 sq. ft. of an asbestos-containing roof with a 30-year insulated membrane roof. A 3,500 sq. ft. vegetated roof was installed to reduce high HVAC demand. All air lines were prefabricated prior to receiving the blowers, allowing a tighly sequenced installation schedule and blower testing with no down time to the facility. Installation of the vegetated roof had to overcome a tight schedule, a narrow growing season and stringent warranty requirements. The building's structual load limitations resulted in a plant and soil system which is 20 percent lighter than a typical vegetated roof.
I send this letter as acknowledgement of the positive contributions made by Methuen Construction to the success of the ARRA-funded Winnipesauke River Basin Wastewater Treatment Facility Aeration Blower and Energy Efficiency Upgrades in Franklin, New Hampshire. In particular we want to recognize the proactive planning employed by the Methuen Construction Team that was evident through all phases of the project. Additionally, we also want to recognize the professionalism exhibited by your team and their ability to foster and maintain excellent working relationships with all of the parties involved in the execution of this project.
