One of our mechanical crews at the Merrimack WWTF Upgrade project was recently recognized for performing an all stop when they encountered an unknown material during demolition. Rather than continuing on with the activity, the crew stopped to ensure it was safe to proceed. After contacting the onsite management team, further investigation was done and the material was identified as asbestos. We thank the project crew in Merrimack for their leadership in safety - by simply stopping work to ask the question they prevented a potential exposure not only to themselves but others working on the project site.
